Perseus and Medusa

This is Perseus and Medusa from one of my favorite stories in Greek Mythology where Perseus the hero of the story goes on a quest to slay Medusa and chop off her head.
I did hear that Medusa is once a beautiful young woman, but when Poseidon the God of the Seas raped her, it made Athena the Goddess of Wisdom and Battle furious and Athena decides to punish Medusa by turning her to a Gorgon monster that has snakes on her head instead of hair and Medusa can turn people into the stone if people ever looked at her.
